Historical References[ | ]

The quarterstaff was used rather infrequently in Europe, as its main purpose was to be as a training weapon for various polearms. However, English fencing masters such as George Silver detail the use of quarterstaves, which Silver says ideally should be as tall as its wielder plus another quarter of its wielder's height.

Notes and Trivia[ | ]

  • The quarterstaff can be surprisingly effective in duels, as its speed and niche usage can catch enemies off guard.
